Up for sale is the IWC Aquatimer Chronograph blue dial in excellent pre-owned condition. This is not the older Cousteau edition rather it's from current catalogue with almost 8k MSRP. Built like a tank, this is the modern reinterpretation of the first Aquatimer released in 1967 with added complications and somehow still maintaining the puristic design of the dial and the more reserved choice of colors and shapes. Even with three subdials and a date and day display, the blue dial is remarkably uncluttered. The external/internal rotating bezel with a SafeDive system designed to prevent inadvertent changes of the dive time boosts the practical use of the diver’s watch, as does the increase in water-resistance to 30 bar. The protective cover for the sliding clutch system at “9 o’clock” blends seamlessly into the overall look of the watch. Although the case diameter is 44mm, the wearability is extremely easy due to downward sloping lugs and high quality strap. I would compare the ergonomics of this watch to Royal Oak Offshore or 43mm Planet Ocean.
