As the race for greater precision accelerated, manufacturers pushed frequencies higher: first to 21,600, then 28,800, and ultimately 36,000. While Girard-Perregaux is recognized as the first to introduce a 36,000 vph movement (cal. 30.5, 31.5, and the well-known 32A), Seiko followed shortly after, proving it could provide the high-beat movement along with the Swiss brand.
