This watch features a beautifully balanced silver dial fitted with elegant silver baton indices and matching hands, giving it a refined and timeless appearance that works effortlessly in both formal and everyday settings. Measuring 34.5mm in stainless steel, with a 40mm lug-to-lug length and an 18mm lug width, the proportions are ideal on the wrist—compact, elegant, and unmistakably vintage without feeling small. The highly sought-after dog-leg lug case is, in our opinion, the best Constellation case design Omega ever produced. At first glance it appears simple, but closer inspection reveals sharp geometric facets and long, angular lugs that add depth and visual interest from every angle. Protecting the dial is a plexiglass crystal, correct to the period, and the watch is paired with a brown leather strap secured by a classic buckle, further enhancing its dress-watch character. Inside beats the automatic Omega Caliber 561, a chronometer-certified movement celebrated for its accuracy, robustness, and longevity. This movement represents the peak of Omega’s mid-century mechanical watchmaking and remains highly respected among collectors today. While water resistance is not rated, this is true to the watch’s original purpose as a refined chronometer rather than a sports piece. Adding to its historical appeal, the Constellation name comes from the iconic observatory medallion on the caseback, topped by eight stars representing Omega’s two chronometer records and six first-place awards achieved between 1933 and 1952 This example remains in good condition, showing little scratches fitting for its age and no dents.
